BitBox02 Wallet

BitBox02 is a hardware wallet developed in Switzerland by Shift Crypto. It is designed with a strong focus on Bitcoin security, privacy and simplicity.

There are two versions:

• Bitcoin-only edition (recommended for BTC maximalists)

• Multi edition (BTC + ETH + ERC-20 support)

Key strengths:

• Open-source firmware

• Touch sliders for confirmation

• MicroSD encrypted backup

Unlike Ledger, BitBox02 is more minimal and Bitcoin-focused. Unlike Keystone, it connects via USB.

Private keys always remain inside the device.

Basic workflow:

1. Initialize device

2. Generate wallet (12/24 words)

3. Backup automatically on MicroSD

4. Connect via USB-C

5. Confirm transactions physically on device

For Bitcoin multisig:

• Compatible with Sparrow

• Compatible with Electrum

Private keys:

• Never leave device

• Transaction signed internally

• Protected by secure element
