OpenSea
OpenSea is a non-custodial marketplace to buy, sell and swap NFTs and tokens across many blockchains.
What it is
OpenSea is a marketplace for digital collectibles such as art, game items, music and domain names. It also supports token swaps. It is run by Ozone Networks, Inc. and works with more than 20 blockchains, including Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum and Optimism. Solana support covers token swaps and selected NFT collections.
It is made for collectors, creators and traders who want one place to browse many networks. Beginners can use the simple Collector view, while more active traders can try the Pro interface. You need your own wallet, and you must follow the laws and tax rules of your country.
How it works
- Open the website or the mobile app.
- Connect a compatible Web3 wallet that you control.
- Browse collections or tokens and pick the network you want.
- Buy at a fixed price, make an offer or join an auction, then approve the transaction in your wallet.
- To sell, list your NFT with a price. The sale fee is taken when it sells.
- Pay the network gas fee shown by your wallet, which changes by blockchain.
When to use it
Use it when:
- You want to browse NFTs across many blockchains in one place.
- You want to keep custody of your assets in your own wallet.
- You are a creator who wants to list or launch a collection.
- You want to swap tokens next to NFT trading.
Not ideal if:
- You do not have a wallet or do not want to manage one.
- You want zero marketplace fees on every trade.
- You are not ready to pay network gas fees.
