Brave Browser
Open-source, privacy-first browser with built-in ad blocking and a native crypto wallet.
What it is
Brave is a free, open-source web browser built on Chromium, created in 2016 by Brendan Eich (co-founder of Mozilla, creator of JavaScript). It's built around privacy: blocking ads and trackers by default, rather than relying on separate extensions.
How it works
Brave Shields blocks third-party ads, trackers and browser fingerprinting automatically, with per-site controls to adjust or disable them.
A private browsing window with Tor routes traffic through the Tor network for extra anonymity.
A built-in, non-custodial crypto wallet connects to multiple blockchains (Ethereum, Solana and others) directly from the browser, no separate extension required.
Brave Rewards is optional: users can choose to view privacy-respecting ads in exchange for BAT tokens.
When to use it
Useful as a daily browser for anyone wanting built-in ad and tracker blocking without installing extra extensions, or for accessing a non-custodial multi-chain wallet directly in the browser.
