Ian Coleman's BIP39 tool is an open-source mnemonic code converter used to generate and recover BIP39 seed phrases and derive the corresponding wallet keys.

⚙️ How it works

- Generate a new random seed phrase (12 to 24 words)

- Recover addresses and private keys from an existing mnemonic

- Derive keys following BIP32, BIP44, BIP49 or BIP84 paths

- Test or verify wallet recovery before relying on it

Typical workflow:

1. Generate a random mnemonic using the browser's cryptographic randomness, or supply your own entropy (dice, coin flips, cards)

2. Select the coin and derivation standard

3. The tool derives the seed, root key, and a list of addresses with their private/public keys

4. Results can be reviewed in a table and columns toggled to isolate specific data

The developer recommends downloading the standalone HTML file and running it on an offline, air-gapped device rather than using the live website when handling a real seed.
