EtherMail
Encrypted Web3 email that you access with your crypto wallet, built for wallet-to-wallet messages.
What it is
EtherMail is a decentralized-style email service made for blockchain users. It lets you send and receive encrypted messages between wallets. The site says it has more than 2,000,000 verified accounts and more than 100 Web3 communities that use it as a main channel.
It is meant for crypto users who want a wallet-based inbox and more control over promotional emails. Features include a Privacy wall to set content preferences, aliases for easier addresses, a PayWall to choose what you will read for rewards, and DApplets to extend the inbox. For privacy, the service focuses on encryption and on letting you decide who can reach you. You must still follow the laws of your country when you use it.
How it works
- Open the EtherMail site and choose to sign up.
- Connect your crypto wallet and sign the request. Signing to retrieve your encryption keys does not use gas.
- Add a backup email if the sign-up flow asks for one.
- Open your inbox and set your Privacy wall, aliases and PayWall preferences.
- Read or send messages on desktop, in the mobile app, or in the Telegram MiniApp. Per the editor's notes, new accounts get 250 EMC at registration. Offers can change, so check the current terms on the site.
When to use it
Use it when:
- You want an email inbox that works with your wallet.
- You want encrypted wallet-to-wallet messages.
- You want to choose which marketing emails reach you.
- You like trying Web3 tools such as aliases and DApplets.
Not ideal if:
- You do not use a crypto wallet and prefer a standard email login.
- You do not want any link between your email and your wallet.
- You are not comfortable signing messages with your wallet.
